The Braves take on the Padres at 4:10 p.m. Eastern. The game’s on both FanDuel Sports Southeast and Peachtree TV.
Reigning National League Cy Young winner Chris Sale gets the start for Atlanta. Michael King (13-9, 2.95 ERA in 2024) takes the mound for San Diego.
COMINGS AND GOINGS
New Braves outfield Jurickson Profar is today’s the lineup, hitting sixth and set to face the team he played for for most of the last five seasons (including last year’s career-best campaign).
Here’s another reminder of who’s new to the 2025 Braves — and who’s gone from the 2024 team.
New to Atlanta: Aside from Profar, the Braves added utility infielder Nick Allen, outfielder Bryan de la Cruz and relievers Hector Neris, Enyel De Los Santos and Jose Suarez. Top catching prospect Drake Baldwin makes his debut today, too.
- Veteran catcher James McCann, outfielder Alex Verdugo and old friends Craig Kimbrel and Jesse Chavez are all starting at Triple-A Gwinnett after signing late in the spring.
Moving on elsewhere: Ian Anderson (Angles), Travis d’Arnaud (Angels), Max Fried (Yankees), Tyler Matzek (Yankees), AJ Minter (Mets), Charlie Morton (Orioles)

THE REINFORCEMENTS
Don’t forget that Spencer Strider (elbow) and Ronald Acuña Jr. (knee) aren’t joining the team until later, as they finish recovering from their respective surgeries.
Barring setbacks, expect Strider back sometime in late April and Acuña in early May. Both killed it in spring training, though.
AROUND THE DIVISION
The Mets signed Juan Soto and, like the Braves, the reigning division champions in Philadelphia largely stood pat. All three are among the game’s best teams.
Fangraphs, though, gives Atlanta the best playoffs odds in the National League East.
Check out Gabriel Burns’ full breakdown here.
AWAY GAME WATCH PARTY
Looking to play a little hooky? You’ve still got time to head down to Summerhill, where the Braves are hosting a block party starting at 3:30 p.m.
They’ll play the game on a giant screen at Wood’s Chapel BBQ (yum) and in the biergarten at Halfway Crooks (double yum).
Blooper, the Heavy Hitters drumline and a bunch of other stuff will be there, too!
Address: 85 Georgia Ave SE, Atlanta, GA 30312
